Where does the time go?

Obviously it's been awhile since I've posted although I never imagined that it would be 7 years. So many things have changed. I finished grad school with my masters and teaching certificate and was ready to conquer the world of teaching. After hearing everyone say that they always needed math teachers, none were needed for that school year. It took me until the next school year to get a teaching position at the high school teaching math. I loved teaching math and interacting with the students but it just wasn't meant to be. After teaching for 2 school years I went back to working at Public Assistance. I felt that I could make more of a difference to the families coming in for help. After a few years I was able to combine my teaching credentials and Public Assistance when I was able to become a trainer. Now I'm training new workers about all the different programs that we have in Public Assistance and how to help the families seeking assistance.

For the past 2 years I've been using goodreads to keep track of all the books I read in a calendar year. In 2017 I successfully read 254 books and in 2018 it was 255 books. So far through the end of March 2019 I've read 62 books so I'm on track to be in the same ballpark as the last 2 years. The book that I finished today, Fatal Reckoning, the newest book in Marie Force's Fatal series. While this may be the 14th book in the series, it is still just as good or better than the first book. Marie grabs the reader's attention right at the beginning and never lets go until the ending. Emotions run the gauntlet as the heroine Sam Holland deals with the death of her father and picking up the cold case in the latest attempt to solve the shooting that left him a quadriplegic.

Marie Force is one of my favorite authors and I follow several of her series along with Fatal. Since Marie allows her fans to follow her on Facebook, she had several fantastic giveaways leading up to the release of Fatal Reckoning. I was lucky enough to win a signed copy of the book as well as a mouse pad. Still jumping up and down since I won.
